Based on the media coverage, there is apparently only one player
participating today. He wears #11 for the Cardinals and is one of the
most unknown players in the NFL!! Let's all forget that Larry
Fitzgerald was perhaps the greatest college wide-out most of us have
ever seen, and that he certainly didn't lose a step once getting into
the NFL. But allegedly I'm supposed to believe that he's been toiling
in 100 catch a season obscurity. Nice. And did you know that his
father is a member of the media?!?!
Anyhow, my post-season predictions have not been something to write
home about, so my goal will be to hit the Super Bowl score right on the
money. I have had strong anti-Cardinal feelings all playoffs, and
these feelings were strengthened two Sundays ago when confetti rained
down on the tear-riddled Cardinal faces. Talk about a "happy to be
there" moment.
But the Cardinals have reason to be confident. Their run game is
better than people give them credit for. Their defense is aggressive
and will get after Big Ben. Obviously their offense and blitz pick-up
has been on fire this post-season. Throw in the fact that "Coach Whiz"
(Whis?) knows the Steeler organization beyond what shows on tape.
The difference maker will be the Steeler running game. Willie Parker
is fresh enough and has the speed to test the Cardinal defense like no
other team has this post-season. The Steeler linebackers are not going
to be abused in coverage. Big Ben will make a play with his feet and
demand that the Arizona secondary cover for longer than they want, and
today redemption is spelled B-E-N. Book it: Steelers 30, Cardinals 20
