Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that disgruntled Buffalo Bills left tackle Jason Peters has been traded to Philadelphia.
The deal sends Peters to Philly in exchange for the Eagles' 28th pick of the first round (their 2nd of two picks), as well as a second day pick, and another pick in 2010.
My initial reaction is, "not surprised". I think the Eagles made a great move because they needed to fill the gaping hole at LT and they weren't going to do it with either first round selection. The tackles that should be available there are considered by most experts to be right tackle prospects (Eben Britton and William Beatty).
By trading the 28th pick and keeping the 21st pick, the Eagles have also left themselves a window to select the other player that could help them in both the passing and rushing schemes, TE Brandon Pettigrew. I feel that Atlanta will take the TE at #24 if he is there and no great DT options remain. By staying at #21 and barring any trades, Pettigrew should be there for the Eagles at #21.
