PITTSBURGH STEELERS |
Super Champs will stay at #1 until the season begins September 10th |
| 2 |
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS |
Tom Brady is back in 09 so look for the 11-5 Pats of 08 to improve even more. |
| 3 |
MINNESOTA VIKINGS |
My sleeper team for 09. Peterson running the rock and Brett Favre will be lined up behind center. And with its stout defense the Vikes coast to the playoffs. |
| 4 |
TENNESSEE TITANS |
Defense will be fine even after losing Haynesworth but the offense is not strong enough to get the job done in the end. |
| 5 |
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES |
Philly focused on the OL in Free Agency and skilled players in the Draft so McNabb should be a happy camper. Is it enough to get them back to the Super Bowl? |
| 6 |
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS |
Philip Rivers is becoming a solid NFL pro and with LT and Merriman healthy they could easily get back to old form and take a mediocre division. |
| 7 |
BALTIMORE RAVENS |
Health concerns on offense at OL and WR/RB but the Defense keeps this team in games. Flacco should avoid the sophomore slump. |
| 8 |
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS |
The Colts will always be scary with Manning behind center but with a new coach and suspect Defense they will have problems with division foes. |
| 9 |
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS |
The defense is terrible. Brees should put equal numbers to 08 so if the defense can step it up they should have no problem winning division |
| 10 |
NEW YORK GIANTS |
The Defense is crazy good but I am not sold on the "other" Manning especially with Burress no longer on the team. With no go to guy they could struggle. |
| 11 |
CAROLINA PANTHERS |
Why was Delhomme given a contract extension? This team will NEVER get back to the playoffs with him running the offense. |
| 12 |
HOUSTON TEXANS |
Another team who should surprise people this year. If Schaub can stay healthy and the defense can pick up where they left off at seasons end they can easily make a run at the playoffs |
| 13 |
ARIZONA CARDINALS |
I will not call last year a fluke. The Cardinals offense is spectacular but thier defense is terrible and this years schedule is not favorable (even in weak division) |
| 14 |
CHICAGO BEARS |
By adding Cutler to the roster the Bears have finally established a potential winner. Or have they? The defense is old and the WR's are so-so. Only if Cutler would have been acquired 4 years ago when this team was great. |
| 15 |
GREEN BAY PACKERS |
I am a fan of Aaron Rodgers but not of the team switching to a 3-4 this year. The defense will struggle (even more than last year) and the offense will not be able to compensate. |
| 16 |
MIAMI DOLPHINS |
Parcells will have this team in the Super Bowl before long but I do not see it this year. Pennington will be the key to the potential success in 09 |
| 17 |
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS |
Was 08 a fluke? The OL was injury ridden and the defense played terrible. With an easier schedule and a fired up owner I imagine Jax will get back to thier winning ways |
| 18 |
DALLAS COWBOYS |
Romo is an average QB and with no star WR's he will struggle. The defense should keep them in games but Barber rarely stays healthy and Roy Williams is NOT a #1 guy. |
| 19 |
ATLANTA FALCONS |
Matt Ryan had a solid year for a rookie QB (mainly due to the running game being so dominant) and will need to do it again if the Falcons have any chance to improve on 08 |
| 20 |
CINCINNATI BENGALS |
Carson Palmer is healthy and ready get to get his team over the .500 slump they have so frequently been under. The offense improves but the defense is still in need of an overhaul. |
| 21 |
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS |
Hasselback is healthy today but who knows how long that will last. FA signing of TJ is a huge plus but no RB is a problem and will hurt this average team. |
| 22 |
NEW YORK JETS |
Sanchez might be the future but Clemons is not the answer for 09. No #1 WR and a medicore defense with new coaching staff could spell disaster. |
| 23 |
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS |
I like Shaun Hill at QB and Morgan at WR but this team has too many other question marks to contend for a divisional title |
| 24 |
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS |
I look for TB to a team that makes a huge freefall in 09. Another team with new coaches but in Tampa they are also without a QB. Leftwich is not the guy they need and drafting Freeman is no help in 09 |
| 25 |
DENVER BRONCOS |
New Coach. Traded franchise QB away. Switching to a 3-4. Questionable Draft. I am wondering why I have Denver ranked so high...... |
| 26 |
BUFFALO BILLS |
I am not a Trent Edwards fan and with or without TO this team will struggle. The defense is loaded with talent but they do not seem to play well together so it will be another long year for Buffalo |
| 27 |
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS |
Which team has lost the most games over the course of the past 2 season? Detroit....? NO. KANSAS CITY is the answer. The defense is terrible and the duo of Pioli and Cassell will not turn be able to turn this team around in 1 season. |
| 28 |
WASHINGTON REDSKINS |
Landing Haynesworth is a huge plus but staying with Jason Campbell at QB is a bigger negative. Portis is getting older and Betts is rarely healthy so the defense may get better but the offense will be worse. |
| 29 |
ST LOUIS RAMS |
What happened to Marc Bulger? The OL is terrible so maybe the newly acquired draft picks will help. The defense is close to the worst in the league against the pass and will need to improve drastically to have a chance. |
| 30 |
CLEVELAND BROWNS |
Man-genius still hasn't chosen a QB and we are half way done with OTA's. If this team wins 4 games I will be surprised. |
| 31 |
OAKLAND RAIDERS |
Questionable Draft to go along with a senile and questionable owner. If I were a player in Oakland I would retire now and avoid the heartbreak. |
| 32 |
DETROIT LIONS |
Stafford should ride the pine and learn the playbook. If any team is rebuilding it is the Lions and ranking them #32 was a no brainer. |
